16" rims vs 17" rims
Trying to decide if I want to go with 16s or 17s. My goal is to have 5 or 6 spoke gunmetal or bronze wheels, lowered, Mazdaspeed side skirts/front bumper, wrap around spoiler and blue paint job. Just want to have it clean look.

Re: 16" rims vs 17" rims
i'd go with 16" unless you do a big brake conversion cause the stock brakes look so tiny in 17" rims

Re: 16" rims vs 17" rims
I'm running 16's the rear in this pic has 45 series while the front has 40 series (both 205) I have all 45 series now but you can see the difference.
My big brake setup will just fit because of the aggressive offset that I have on my wheels. (et10) I'm still anticipating some trouble with rubbing.

Thanks, that's the look I'm going for. What is your suspension setup, springs/struts combo?

Re: 16" rims vs 17" rims
I have 17's on the RS and 15's on the GS, IMO 16's look the best give you plenty of tire, brakes don't look quite as small, and they are not overly heavy. My 17's weigh 22lbs a piece...

Re: 16" rims vs 17" rims
The rear tire size is 205 45 16 and the rim in the pic is a 16x8 with an et of 10. (It's a bit too agressive IMO as I now have 16x8's in the rear with a 15 offset).Mx-3Luxembourg wrote:@AaronTietje Can you tell me the rear tire size and wheel size?

I had Konig Helium 17s on 205/40. Many people thought they were 16s

Re: 16" rims vs 17" rims
17's dont match on a mx3,theyre to big for such a small car... get the 16's, and slam your car.
