How do you remove the gas tank?
I need to remove my gas tank, how do I go about this? Unhook fuel pump?
Re: How do you remove the gas tank?
Stick a rag in the top, lite it on fire and run. Tank will then remove itself with minimal effort on your part.
Oh you want to keep the car ok then do this.
Disconnect battery.
Drain fuel from tank.
Pump disconnected, disconnect fueling hose and all other hoses you can see. Unbolt straps and remove. It's pretty self evident. The hoses can be an SOB to get off so be prepared to take your time with them.
You can check out the on line manuals as well.
Remember your working on a bomb so treat it that way. No open flame, fuel + trouble light bulbs are no good and if you can have a fire extinguisher on hand that's a bonus.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: How do you remove the gas tank?
That would be a good start. I can't access the resource I use at work for this, so I would suggest looking through the online manuals at http://mx-3.com/manuals/index.php
Perhaps someone with experience in this area will come on here and give you more info.

Thanks guys I'll give it my best. I'm gonna have my frame rails replaced by my uncle, and I want to leave as little work for him as possible.
