Pssible Phone Fraud (Solved but be warned)

Post by Daninski »

Ok I've been called twice by scammers trying to get my Bell Canada password. The guy today even had my correct bill amount for this month when they called me back. The *69 number is 800-477-9205. Of course they could be calling from anywhere and routing through that number, as told to my by the RCMP. Googling the number revealed many posts by people receiving similar calls from that number and Bell never confirming or denying whether it's actually a Bell number????

Continued; after more investigation I discovered the 800 number is a valid Bell number however, the Anti Fraud division of the RCMP (Federal Police in Canada) still held that you never give out any personal information over the phone when some one calls you. Get there phone number, check it out and then call them back.

Cheers, Dan

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
