I love my MX-3!

Post by heckdave »

I've owned 30 cars. Right now, I have a 93 MX-3 GS SE with a KLZE swap. I also own a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo in near mint condition and a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata.

The MX-3 is the "slowest" and worst handling of my cars, but if someone made me get rid of two of my cars, money not involved, the MR2 and the Miata would be gone. I don't know why, but the MX-3 is just that much of a car. It's fun and easy to drive. Maybe it's what a BMW would be if a BMW was reliable. If more people had been exposed to this car in the first place, there would be so many more of them on the road, but I'm glad to have such a fun and rare car!

Pending mods, the Mx-3 should actually be fastest. The MazdaSped Miata is only 178hp and 166tq and weighs almost the same as a GS @ 2529lbs. The MR2 making 200hp and 200tq, but weighing almost almost 400lbs more at 2888lbs. Of course depends on if either car has any mods and/or the boost is cranked up.

I concur. I've owned and modified many cars, and have had the most fun with my MX-3.

I purchased a miata last year when I lost my mx-3. Even though I'm driving the miata because of this awesome 75 degree weather down here, when the weather isn't *perfect* I long for my mx-3 something fierce.

The MR2 and the Miata have minor mods, but in most practical applications, although it may be close, I think that the RWD of my current other two cars give them that advantage.
I am talking acceleration, too....as I THINK that the MX-3 has a higher top speed than the Miata.

It will never happen, but it would be nice to pay a few professional drivers to race my cars around various tracks and watch the results.

Here's a pic - My SE has obviously been painted.

I miss my Mx-3, a lot, she was a great car, but I don't regret selling her, it was time. I think I mostly miss it because I haven't been able to start working on the 8 yet, because I'm making less than when I did when I had the Mx-3, life keeps sucking, and everything costs more, including to live (especially gas)
