Usually Daninski posts stuff like this..

GOOD A Bend ,Oregon policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem--a 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD.' The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

BETTER A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in Pendleton, Oregon. A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.

BEST A young woman was pulled over for speeding. An Oregon State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book. She said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper's Ball." He replied, "Oregon State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, tipped his hat, got back in his patrol car and left

Hahaha! Yeah, Oregon cops are kind of awesome. One time, I pulled out from a parallel parking spot, much too quickly, in my fast car, with a loud exhaust. I noticed too late that the car I hurried to get out in front of was a cop. I couldn't believe he didn't pull me over.
I went in to contest a ticket, and had with me, a full sized Turkey decoy made of foam rubber that looked very real. For no good reason, I shoved it on top of my head, and wore it into the courtroom. No one said anything, and I proved my case, and had it dropped. I've had other pleasant interactions with the Police.

You asked for it,
About 3 AM, one very cold morning, Senior Trooper Gary Gleaves (Oregon State Police) responded to a call there was a car off the shoulder of Interstate 5 outside Canyonville , OR. He located the car, stuck in deep snow, and with the engine still running. Pulling in behind the car with his emergency lights on, the Trooper walked to the driver's door to find an older man passed out behind the wheel with a nearly empty vodka bottle on the seat beside him.

The driver came awake when the Trooper tapped on the window. Seeing the rotating lights in his rearview mirror, and the State Trooper standing next to his car, the man panicked. He jerked the gearshift into 'drive' and hit the gas. The car's speedometer was showing 20-30-40 and then 50 mph, but it was still stuck in the snow, wheels spinning.

Senior Trooper Gleaves, having a sense of humor, began running in place next to the speeding, but still stationary car. The driver was totally freaked, thinking the Trooper was actually keeping up with him. This goes on for about
30 seconds, then the Trooper yelled at the man to 'Pull over!' The man obeyed, turned his wheel and stopped the engine.

Needless to say, the man from Los Angeles, Calif. was arrested, and is probably still shaking his head over the State Trooper in Oregon who could run 50 miles per hour.

Who says Troopers don't have a sense of humor?
