This game is extremely addicting (if you liked Lego as a kid). Made some Swedish dude a multi-millionare in under a year. The code is so shitty your "nice" laptop will struggle with it.
Anyone else play?

Do you host a dedicated one? I host my own, with another guy from school. We just host it on dropbox so we can play whenever we want without having a dedicated server. Its nice.
Silly question, I know...
me -> ryan_t_mx
1.1? I get outdated client error...

I built a low power HTPC/Server so I could host stuff like this myself
Thanks to EPB of Chattanooga, fastest internet in the NATION, i have oogles of bandwidth to share.
I currenly have their slowest package. 30mbps up, 30mbps down. Thanks to Fiber Optics, it's ALWAYS 30mbps no fluctuation.

I run the preview builds, so
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Versi ... ons#12w04a you can get the client. Under C:\users\*yourusername*\appdata\.roaming\minecraft\bin you just replace the minecraft.jar
We have JUNGLES and MAZDACATS!
I'll have to whitelist you later when I can log in

which one? I had to run 1.8.1 for the longest time before I was savvy enough to switch it around.
why run earlier? playing for free?

Preview builds aren't earlier builds. they're prereleases with the latest additions.
We're all legit though. Love the game, buy the game.

Oh, excuse my ignorance
I forced update, is that the same effect?

no, forcing the update will only force the latest "official" build. You have ot copy the minecraft.jar, then navigate C:\users\(username)\appdata\.roaming\minecraft\bin then paste it in there.
the appdata is hidden folder, so either put it in the address bar or unhide your hidden folders in the folder options

I have played in that folder before.
am I whitelisted yet or should I not bother til later?
Any decent way to do some sort of dual-install to avoid swapping clients all the time?
