My family found a really old picture of my Dad and his 1st gen Rx7. Not the greatest pic in the world but its awesome to know he was a mazda gear head as well.

Mediocrity runs in Dan's veins. He just masks it with his charm and good looks.

Mnemonic, did your dad buy it new?

My parents first import was out '90 626. My dad used to drive a street-illegal-ex-stock-car 66 Mustang which apparently was a beast. Mazda's may not be in the blood, but being a gearhead is. On my mom's side I have a cousin that dirt track raced a few seasons, his son races a dirtbike now. On my dad's side I've got an uncle with a supercharged foxbody 5.0L Mustang and a cousin with a Supercharged B16 glasstop CRX. He's apparently an awesome tech and fabricator, did most of Carl Nadeau's drift cars. Glad I'm only living a few minutes way from him now, should be a good summer ;)

But it doesn't matter where I was raised, it's in my blood :driver:

I follow the words of a great man who said, "be the change you want to see in the world". If that makes me guilty of mediocrity then I accept that guilt.

Sheet I just remembered, my Dad use to own some old car (new when he had it lol) that had a rumble seat in the back. I gotta see if I have any pictures of it.

Yep he bought it brand new, had it for 3 years and then gave it to my mom because she was getting too much attention from other guys in her spyder. He was a chevy man, but loved rx7s only import he would touch.

Yeah my dad did look like he belonged in creedance lol.

Just before my folks got married, dad bought a Mazda 929. He loved it so much that he felt guilty that he had that while mum was driving some bunged up old Toyota so he let her use his Mazda. She says it's the best car they've owned until they bought mums current Camry (which dad hates). He had a Mazda Tribute for about 5 yrs and just sold it as they only need one car now due to him working away mostly (and mum refused to drive 'the silly truck'). He loved that car too, and wants to replace mums Camry with an RX-8 as soon as they've fully recovered from the GFC's whopping hit on them... Looking like another Mazda coupe might adorn our driveway in the next 18 months or so :)
