I drove my first mx3 8 months ago and instantly fell in love with them. that was only with a 1.6L. I just purchased my mx3 on new years eve. the previous owner done a engine swap from the 1.8L to the 2.5L and installed a mazda performance chip. he was all about performance but not body and interior. I'm not complaining though because car has stupid high performance and the interior and exterior is super clean. the interior and body is all stock, but I would give it a 9-9.5. I am ordering aftermarket racing seats, steering wheel, drifter body kit, and wheels. What can I say, I love mx3's! I would love to come to a meet sometime!

There's a few members in the Chitown area, but most of them have fallen off the face of the earth...

Are there really mx3 meets bc I think it would be pretty awesome to attend one to see all the different customs of the cars

Simple answer: No. There hasn't been a Chitown MX-3 meet that I've ever been aware of.

How much did you pick your mx3 for? Looks pretty clean still and is that just a millenia ze or a true ze?

i bought it for $1,100 bc the previous owner got busted doing 103 in a 55. They sherriff hit him with everything- wreckless driving, speeding, no seatbelt, no proof of insurance, open container (empty beer can in the back seat), and some otlher stuff.

And as far as:

I do not know what you mean by that. I still learning about these cars and their termonology.

Oh, that's a pretty good deal for a swapped mx3, especially decently clean! Well, a curve neck is said to be ze or some people say it's only 170hp millenia motor depending on cams, and heads. The straight necks are usually the jdm mx6 motors that produce 200hp, again with the right heads and cams. There's alot of kl motors that were being bought as klzes but not producing the 200hp and alot of people on different kl sites have always been trying to determine the differences and everything. If you read more about them, there's tons of info out there about the different motors. I was just interested to see if it was a true one with all the true ze goodies.

Did he give you any other intake manifolds to go with the car? It looks like a stock 1.8 unless the rest is either de/ze? Look on the heads to see the stampings of the numbers and letters. Zes are kl31-101 kl31-1A1 des are kl-101 kl-1A1, or it might just be a 1.8. Who knows, does it get up and go really quick or?

I received another identical manifold with the car. I will check out the heads for the stampings. As far as getting up and going, it does for a v6.
I dont have any times but as far as GEAR/SPEED:
-1st/ 26mph
-2nd/ 56mph
-3rd/ 79mph
-4th/ haven't topped it yet :p
-5th/ haven't topped it yet :p

the previous owener said that he had it up to 143 and he said it was still climbing. I haven't checked it out yet tho.

well, my stock mx3 can do those numbers and it feels quick but once you get in a ze or a de, you can clearly tell the difference. mx3 has lighter flywheel stock so it revs through the rpms quickly, de seems to have more torque but ze has that pull in the high rpms that the other 2 lack. just my opinion, others may differ.
