KLZE Curved neck

Post by wertys »

Hi guys, I've got a KLZE Curved neck with KL31 head and KL01 cams. Should I change me KL55 ECU for a KL31 ? Gas wise and problem wise? would i be more suitable? I've got a great deal on it but I want to make sure it's worth it.

Not for those reasons.

The KL55 is for a DE, so that ECU will probably be throwing a CEL for not having the EGR. Also, depends on the wiring harness in your car and if your rad fan is running all the time. Fuel economy shouldn't be too much of an issue, but a question I have is what VAF are you running?

I don't remember what KL31 ECU's go for, but I could of sworn they dropped in price once you could get Probinator chips and the like, so I want to say that price is high, but I actually may be wrong. Ya I paid $250 for my KL36 with no speed limiter, but that's 9 years ago and that was the only real option.

Hows your DE ECU/VAF running now? If it's running ok, than leave it with that you got. The downside tot he KL31 is the 180km/h speed limiter in it.

Right now the KL31 ecu's are going for about 200 bucks US so I think 175 for the set is a good deal

I ran a kl55 and kl57 ecu with a 95 millenia engine. it had curved neck with ze cams and de pistons. since it had an egr, it didnt list any codes. it ran about 900 on idle, but ran smooth. it also had kl02 vaf with it.

Nd4Spd, you probably caught this but it sounds like he's got a Milli engine, so EGR should be there. :D

I say that's a decent deal for a ze and je50. Less headache to find one or the other when both come together.
