When do I know when I have to rebuild me calipers ?
Can i test them somehow ?

If rubber seals on them are leaking/torn or there's excessive rust and if they're sticking.

Ok, I can see some sticking pistons in my caliper.

What are good places to get a rebuild kit ?

Rock Auto sells kits, although I have not purchased one myself. There other products have all been up to snuff, by my reckoning.

There's only one piston in your caliper. You must be thinking about sliding pins?
Sliding pins are easy to fix, all you do is get them out, if they're rusty run some steel wool, clean them up good and put some grease on them

I'd like to add that AutoZone(and probably other places as well) carry the pins and retaining clips(the rattling POS clips) for a decent rate. I broke the rattle clips on my front left and out of curiosity checked, they sell them in pairs. (Enough for 2 calipers)

I'm going to look for a Mazda Millenia front rebuild kit and miata M160 rear caliper rebuild kit.

Is there also another way to remove the piston ?
My compressor has only very little pressure.

Oke, I removed the pistons from the calipers.

Rear pistons are screwed in so you have to turn to get them out.
Fronts were really stuck and had to use pliers and a lot of WD40 to get them out.

Can you take pics of the rears, I've never seen screw in pistons. Also if you used pliers and scratched the pistons you may need to replace them. Check the cylinder walls for signs of corrosion. If there is any you should replace the caliper as the corrosion even if you clean it could cause your new seals to leak.

screw ins are a pita. At least they were when i was changing a buddies pads and rotors (front and back) on a 03 Hydai Tiburon.

I broke two caliper compressors trying to push the piston in... only to realize i needed the tool to screw them in

The funny shape of the piston face is the giveaway that a tool is needed to screw it in.

Anyone got a pic of these 'screwey' pistons?

i dont have a pic but the piston looks the same except for a few indentations on it, the ones i did have four straight groves from each other about 2in long each and in the shape of a cross
