Well there is a wire that connects to the back of the radio. I remember seeing the wires going all the way down behind the A Pillar and then down into the corner of the dash. Maybe start there and see where it leads. It could be that it's bolted down behind the corner of the dash. I can't find anything in the manuals either!

I just call it an antenna.

The cable it uses is rather stiff, and I don't know if it disconnects from the actual antenna or not. You can just take off the A pillar plastic, unscrew the base from the roof, and wiggle and look. If you don't want to use it ever again you could cut it up and just pull it through the dash.

Its been a long time since I removed mine from my other cars so I am not too sure how it went. It slides up and out of the roof so undo the two screws on the mount, the wire that goes to your deck is run threw a couple of bent metal clips near the top of the dash and I think you can get to them from underneath and maybe if you pull the instrument cluster not to clear on the memory, there is one plastic clip on the blower box behind the cd player holding the cable. It then runs up threw the a pillar, I can't remember if it helps to pull the pillar cover off but it clips on and off easy enough. You probably could just unscrew the antenna from the roof and cut it off to shove it down into the a-pillar if you don't want to try and pull the wire out, I remember it was not hard to do but I also had the dash out as well.

It's a bit of a pain to remove but can be done without tearing the whole dash apart.

The antennae extends from the outside all the way to the radio. It all removes as a whole unit. If I recall its held in place by clips but I'm not 100% certain. I do know it extends into the car and down near the fuse box. And up around the gauge cluster, then to the stereo. So i would remove the trim near the fuse box, the gauge cluster and trim around it, and stereo. You should be able toremove it then.
