Current Project

I’ve painted this car before when I was 19 or 20. The color of Choice was “evolution orange mica” based on the Mazda Miata Anniversary edition. It was during the great Orange Trend!! Ha Ha! I had lots of bondo on the Qtr Panels and I had “frenched” some side skirts I had purchased in the Fiberglass days.

Current Project Began Fall November 2010. Low Money, catching up on bills delayed my project for nearly 6 months!! But I hit work hard this past September and I’m ready to boogie.

My Work was cut out for me, began disassembling the Doors, Fenders, Glass, Sunroof and Front and rear bumpers. Again, lots of bondo, so hours of grinding was in motion.

Oct 8th and I am getting Ready from Primer on the main Body. QTR Panels, Roof, and Doors.

Looking good... The painted rear indicators is an interesting idea.. is that legal/are they still operational?
I'm assuming from the pics that you're sticking with the orange colour, or are you going for a change?
(Sorry for the bump, I just found this particularly interesting ;))

Ok right off the bat I'm PO,d  Having a hoist like that is 'the cats meow'. I'm jealous, I can't stand it. I have to drive mine up on wooden blocks or jack it up. :(

You still going to paint it the color you mentioned 6 months back when we met up? It'll look sexy if you do. 8)

Edit: Haha, I need to look at all the pics next time and watch the video. Yes, yes you are going with that color still!

I love the new color, this looks like an awesome project... but even though that rear strut bar is unique, it's definately not Mazdaspeed

Sorry about the late response. I have not been on here in a while. The body work is still in the works, and I am still looking to painting it Titainium Grey. It was once beutified with Evolution Orange Mica. The rear indicators were painted the same and did work without issues!! :D The Rear Bar in the pic is from corksport. I do though, have the authentic Mazdaspeed bar in now. Its a thin bar, and has the MAZDASPEED LOGO etched in.

I assumed he was still referring to the rear bar... yes the front is definately mazdaspeed... 8)

I've just never seen a rear mazdaspeed bar made for the mx-3.

ohhh, no i think he is talking about a rear MS bar, really you've never seen one? i'll try to find a worklog on CP of someone who has one.
*edit* found it, took me a little while to find it cause i couldn't remember who it was. (pretty sure the BG rear strut bar fit the mx3 right?)

Anyways, i'm really liking the new color as well, how close are you to done?

oh snap I have never seen that before :o  I'm still correct in saying it wasn't made for the mx-3 but it's nice to know there is an oem mazdaspeed option available for another car that fits the mx-3!
