In case people mistake it for the little bulb that illuminates the ignition, it's not that.

That's where it belongs, and this is simply... extra.

Thank you! I went to adjust the steering column height, and this was across the lever; Needless to say, I took it apart and found nowhere to put it

That wire goes into the front of the lock cylinder on hers. hope this helps

One plug does go into the LH side of the ignition but there is one plug that seems to just be a spare. My MX3 and MX6 had it.

As a side note the MX3, 6, 626 and who knows what else all have the same ignition HOWEVER, there is a slider that allows you to remove the key that's connected to a cable from the shifter (in autos only) that I believe is vehicle specific. On the standard it's missing or non functional. I hope this isn't too confusing.

nope that was seperate, this clipped in just at the side of the ignition cylinder

If your doors don't chime with the keys fully in the ignition and doors open, and if the door switches haven't been disabled, its the little plug for that... If you pull the key out 1/4", then the dinging should stop.

The wires come out of somewhere around the ignition cylinder, I don't remember how or where... it was two green wires though.

I can live without this sound, especially since I have locked my keys in a car maybe 3 times since I was 15.

As for cleanliness, it will be zip-tied.
