I have a 1995 mx3 with dohc do i have OBDI or OBDII?

im about to buy a BP engine from a salvage yard to do a BP swap and im wondering what year protege should i get for my swap i was planning on getting a 95 or 96

I would say obdII but you can tell by checking under the dash for the obdII plug.

probably obdi, II is more rare than you'd think
