Solenoid Valve (Pressure Regulator) hack job

Post by im2bad4ya »

So I've pretty much been driving my car like this for 6 years. I really didn't notice anything until i found this part hiding in the tiny holding space on the drivers side door.

After researching, I found it where it's SUPPOSED to go. So what was there in its place???

The electrical cable had a jumper wire and the tubing on the intake manifold was covered with a screw. Sure enough, when i run diagnostics, I get an error code 25 (pressure regulator). So it appears that the piece I found is broken on one end, so that's why it was left the way it was. I've never had any problems with the car related to this, but I do plan on fixing the car so no stone is left unturned. Is this a piece i can order for a local parts store or do I have to pick it out at a junk yard?
