Yep, he's fine. The shitty thing is that it was a RHD Subaru and it wasn't even the driver's car. Here's the aftermath:

Stupid Hay Bale, jumping out and biting his tires like that!! They oughta be banned from the track...but on a more serious note...
A few more feet to the left, and it could have gotten really ugly...good thing the other drivers were quick to brake, rather than pile up...

Is that a BOV as it turns upside down in midair?

I feel for the guys, thats enough damage to kill the car for sure. I guess he should work his car up to the limit instead of overshooting and then easing up.

Yes, it was mid-boost.

I dunno, it looked like he was gonna clear it if not for the hay. CSCS is still kind of an amateur organization and they're probably gonna take some heat after this.

You're right, but this is how it goes at our local track.

There was a hard corner, and people kept overshooting, running off the edge, and it developed a huge pothole. So they filled it in with a 2' wide patch or concrete, and people overshot that, and it made another pothole. They refuse to fix it again, so now people avoid it unless they want a new control arm and rim.

You don't modify the track to suit drivers who can't corner. That defeats the purpose, and eventually every track would be a nascar track. Its the guys fault, he MUST have been around that track before, they SHOULD have made every driver walk or at least putt the track. He had seen the corner before, and he should not have overshot if he was driving safely.

Definitely, I agree with you. That wasn't his first lap for sure and no one else went wide like that. Some guys were joking that if it was LHD he'd see how close he was lol. When I say that CSCS is amateur I mean they don't really have many mandated rules in place, ie. safety areas (crowd too close to the track); driver experience (pretty much anyone can enter); in that particular lapping session helmets were optional, I don't know why, but you can see the integra's driver comes out without a helmet. Even the AutoX events I've been to had more rules in place than this!

bet you he will never not wear a helmet again! unless he is stupid. Then again I never got a really good look at him until after the crash. So I don't actually know.

With some work that car is reparable, but it needs a structural inspection now...
