how do i remove rear trunk carpet
i am try to redo my interior but i cant get the darn carpet off the top of the back seat...i have pulled the clips as hard as i could and i think i broke a couple but i want to be able to put it back on....PLEASE help
Re: how do i remove rear trunk carpet
there is no secret... that's how you do it. pull all them suckers out. they aren't really designed to be taken in and out. just use a flat head screwdriver and pry them up carefully, prying up all around the head, not just at one side or the other. take your time, and you should keep the breakage to a minimum. parts store will carry very similar replacements for the broken ones

buy replacement clips and just go nuts cause their probably just going to break anyways, that's pretty old plastic holding it on.

what evo said. see it as a Christmas present, i did the same thing. tugged and pulled for about an hour trying to be gentle, till i flipped my lid and just ripped it off. broke 5 of them. $27 at part source if you got that store where u are.

If you haven't done it yet, I have a tip.
Buy the replacements at Lowe's, they're cheap and they have black, tan, white, and more colors available.
Yank the B**ch out, if you're careful you might save half the clips(if you're lucky)

Buy a push pin puller my friend.
We all want to be fast and look cool. Cool changes but fast never does.

Re: how do i remove rear trunk carpet
i came to realize..if your gentle u can get it off without breaking a single clip. did it in my friends last night! all i did was pull the carpet and just made the clip's act like a button up shirt...0 clips broken. 1 a little bent. (wish i woulda had more patients when i did mine..5 clips broken) lol.

Re: how do i remove rear trunk carpet
you could try to get them off by using a pair of wire cutters like a clip puller, but you have to watch you don't cut them off
so in short Just buy new ones tree clips are garbage!
and you ripped the carpet not enough it matters tho
