Stock sohc ecu headroom with injectors

From my reading the early miata ecu (VAF) can still control injectors that are up to 305cc. The first miatas run 230cc injectors stock. So there's ALOT of wiggle room. 33% worth actually. Much more than other platforms I've worked with.
Question 1) Does this also apply to the mx3 ecus? Primarily the old sohc vaf ecus? They have 190cc injectors. So I'm wondering if I can get away with 33% more which would be 250cc . . .
Question 2) And doesn't the ecu correct for this extra fuel during WOT when it ignores the input from the VAF? I wouldn't expect that it reverts back to figuring that there's 190cc fuel flow if it learns that there's much more flow there during closed loop.
