[WTB] floor mats

OK...so Mazda no longer makes MX-3 floor mats and according to my dealer there isn't a dealership in Canada with a set in stock. I would like a set of really, really clean factory black ones if anybody has a set. I found a local custom embroidery place that will reproduce the 25th anniversay logo for me. If I have to I will buy aftermarket mats. I would prefer to have stock ones but only if they're really mint.

thanks,
Charlie

I'd be surprised if you find someone with mint condition stock Mx3 mats. The car is at least 13-14 years old if not older. I don't know if anyone could keep a floor mat mint condition for a month, let alone a decade and a half.

Unless I'm missing something...

there's floor mats that diezzel said he got from ebay.
he just told them what he wanted on the floor mat (mx-3) and the color he wanted and they look great.
so if you had a picture of the 25th edition logo or something, i'm sure they'd make them for you

Oooh I thought you were referring to ORIGINAL stock mx3 mats. Woops.

Well the reason I posted is because I found a thread while I was searching around on another forum by a guy who had a new set that he never used...but the thread was old and the guy never responded. I figured maybe someone on here might have a newish set that they would sell.

I do have an email out to a custom mat guy I found on the webs but no reply yet.

There was a guy a long while back that was going to get them made, and I was in on the GB, but it ended up falling through.

Actually I'm pretty sure I found a set of floor mats at home, but they're an OK set. Probably not what you want.

I'd say there might be plenty of good mats left... people buy car at stealership, buy all weather mats, and then never remove them.

I'll keep an eye out in my JY runs, I never thought they'd be a desirable item.

Dibs on the OK set if the backing isn't flaking off. My drivers mat is almost pooched. :(

Anyway I think if buying factory originals only is the game we're setting ourselves up to fail. But then we all know that. If you get a lead on mats keep us posted. Maybe we could do a GB and save a few bucks. We'll call it the wytbishop/daninski GB. :D

The backing is definitely flaking off. I've barely had a set that didn't.

That's it, Mazda recall. Everyone with flaking backing gets new mats. :D

I had a set that I acquired a couple years back with a studded bottom that stayed in place real nice and were OEM... definately rare but didn't have that flaking issue. I sold them and stupid DHL lost the package! So there's a some out there, I'll keep an eye out

Thanks Mike. I'm looking for something really nice. I appreciate you pulling those out for me though. I think I will wind up buying aftermarket and trying to find someone that will embroider it for me.

That sucks...I'm checking ebay semi-regularly.

Figured they wouldn't be to your standard, but it was nothing to take a few pics, just in case.
