Hello

I have a red 94 MX-3, 1.6 L, 5 spd, DOHC, base, which I purchased for $400 back in May 2009 from a lady in Columbia, TN. It didn't have any hatch glass in it, and rainwater had ruined interior before the owners covered it with a tarp. It belonged to owner's daughter who had took off outta state with some loser, so they sold it out from underneath her. It had no exhaust from the cat back. The tires were bald. There was a crack pipe under the seat. You get the picture. Extremely low compression, but still drove it around looking for a job while I was unemployed. Had an engine swap (from another 94 MX3) and exhaust done once I secured a job (took seven months)! Now, $2K later, most of the interior is there, and I laugh everytime I fill it up at the gas station. I typically get 35 mpg, with as high as 40 mpg once. It's a great car, as long as I can keep it running. I have limited experience working on imports, and cars in general, so I'm hoping to gain more knowledge on some of the problems associated with the brand.

Welcome to the forum. If you plan on doing more work to your car you can start a worklog.
