crank no startm changed distributor now starts but hesitates

No spark so changes distributor . Now runs and starts but. Hesitates stutters..when yu give it gas it wants to die.. any suggestions ideas thanks

set your ignition timing properly in diagnositic mode with a timing light. You may have noticed that the distributor is adjustable. You could just adjust it until it runs right for a temp. fix.

Yea I adjusted to just to get it started than adjusted it while giving throttle to get it running smooth. What's the timing procedure? Or if u can direct me to a link ?

And if it still acts up... it could be a few different things. Fuel problem, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor...

carefully inspect the intake hoses for leaks. In my experience most idle problems are traced to an air intake issue. After that set the TPS, the timing and the idle according to the procedures in the manual. If the problem persists start looking at the other ignition components. Bad plug wires are a common problem, incorrectly gapped plugs...that sort of thing.

so it turns out it was a bad reman distributor..replaced it today and started right up. new cap also..im doing fuel filter tomorrow afta work. \
