Oil indicator turns on while driving ? :(

Hi guyz,
I got a 93 Mx-3 (Eunos 30x) 1.8 Manual, and I am having a problem.
The oil indicator turns on after driving for about 20 mins. The car got plenty of oil up to the full mark when resting. when the light comes up it does make a slight difference to the HP of the car. thats the only thing I could notice that changes with the indicator. If I stop the car until it cools down and drive again it will again go for about 20 mins or so and the light will come up again.
I had a similar problem before but it was due to a crack on the main air intake hose. At that time the RPM droped right down when the indicator came up because of the loss of preasure. However, I believe its not the air intake this time coz I cheked all the hoses that I can see from top and I also didn't notice any RPM drop.
can you guyz think of any other reason ( than low oil) that makes the oil indicator to turn on ?? and is it going to blow the engine if I drive while its on ?
Thanks guyz apriciate your replies .. Thanks
