Re: turbo for mileage
It's not a diesel...
When you put in MORE AIR (from a turbo), you need to add the same radio of fuel, thus pump in MORE FUEL.
Not sure about you, but typically, when you have to dump more fuel into a motor, your not using less.

Re: turbo for mileage
No no, that's not the point. We're not saying you can't get good milleage with a turbo'd motor. Basically he wants to ADD a turbo to get BETTER milleage than he's already getting...pox wrote:There are a ton of BP-Ts running 25-35mpg. Its all about the tune.

Re: turbo for mileage

Re: turbo for mileage
your 2mpg improvement was probably just from tuning the car...turpro1993 wrote:Actully got 2mpg improvement when I boosted my bp BUT you have to run premium fuel so it didn't save anything

Re: turbo for mileage
in what world do you think a 2.5l engine that is essentially the same as a 1.8l (give or take) only bigger use less fuel. i think you have the whole engineering idea backwards. you want better mileage? swap in a 1.6l i4 from the 92 rs, or buy a civic...
