9004 to 9007 conversion

Post by mitmaks »

Anyone convert their 9004 headlight socket to accept 9007 bulb? I read that it has more light output which would be beneficial to our mx-3's

Hmmm...I really doubt that a difference in socket will give you a difference in light output. I may be wrong though...

If you could do it that would be awesome. I have never seen it done, but I am sure its possible with abit of wiring and maybe abit of modding to the socket..

9004 - lumens 700/1200, max watts 50/70
9007 - lumens 1000/1350, max watts 60/70

9007 puts out more power and more lighting, especially on low beam so it would be worth it if it's not to hard to do.

However, if you can get EDM/JDM lights...

H4 - lumens 1100/1500, max watts 55/60

More lumens with less draw

Apparently you have to switch wires around and then trim bulb a bit to fit into headlight.
