Anybody have a manual steering MX-3 I can test drive???

I'm interested in test driving an MX-3 with the manual 323 rack, if at all possible. I'm considering deleting my PS(And other things), but looping the lines is out of the question. If I'm doing it, I'm doing it right.

I would like to feel first hand the handling changes, and if anybody relatively nearby has a true MS rack on their car, I'll fill your tank, supply Cold Beer, and talk MX's all day long if you wish.

Thanks!

When you find out, post it up please, I'm debating this too.

Will do, if it wasn't such a pain to do the swap... I'd just do it and drive it for a week, basing the decision off of that.

Mine feels the same, I changed to manual because the pathetic power steering was always leaking, replaced pumps twice, rack once... a bunch of crap. Plus it frees up more hp than a dumb underpulley drive.

Car is easy to ride in and the rack is almost maintenance free.

I'm not a fan at all. Drove Duncan's car with the 323 rack. Maybe it's just my driving style, but I laugh when anyone says that there's not much of a difference.

well my rack is playing up and feels like a bloody wagon with no power steering... so you could try driving that...? lol

Actually a failing or disabled rack/power steering isn't the same as a manual rack.

Hector,
I'm considering it for the same exact reasons. I hate the leaky pump/reservoir, want *free* HP, and honestly want to clean up my engine bay a bit. All valid reasons to change something, but I won't make the change without test driving one first, I wouldn't trade familiar handling for any of those things, no matter how much I want them.

Thanks for the input though, if I can't find a donor for a test I'll probably just swap one in for a week, as I previously joked about.

Nd4SpdSE,
Dually noted, I've driven other Manual Steering cars and had mixed opinions, I honestly don't know how I'll like it on this one.

-eunos-,
Thanks for the offer, but I can't help but think that would be slightly different :P
