I have 1997 MX-3 with V6 engine (95 kw). It's original engine with TOT57171 distributor. I was searching on forum a lot but I didn't find the HEI mod wiring with external coil for this type of distributor (it have cam sensor). I found wirings for TOT57071 and TOT57271. Can anybody stick a link or a wiring diagram for this distributor please?

The only difference is the wires on the three wire plug on the disty. 92-93 (possibly 94 can't remember) are wired one way where as 95-96 two of the wires are reversed. Check the colour codes in the Fax post and see how they compare to your three wire plug. Cam sensor is not a concern with HEI mod.

There is no writeup for the 94 disty. Dan is right about the wires, howecer its not that easy.

The internal guts of the 94 disty are different then the 92-93 disty, there is no "strap" that you can just pull out, its not the same. Unfortunately there isn't much more info I can give you. I think there was someone that attempted a hei on a 94 not to long ago, not sure if they failed or succeeded but a quick search should yield a answer

So you just need to find out how to disconnect the internal coil if you plan on going with an external coil.

Alright, enough of this agreeing with each other stuff. It could become a nasty habit if we're not careful.

The HEI mod with external coil works just fine. But I don't want to burn my tacho...where should I connect 1k-ohm resistor for tachometer? To C of 3-pin connector (first from left to right)

I think that's based on the tot57271 disty, I don't think that is 100% gonna work for the 171 disty. Unfortunately the 94 mx3 disty is specific only to this car. Probes and mx6s just jumped from the tot57071 to tot57271
