Scantool.net feedback

I realize this board is intended to leave feedback about forum members, but being that other people may be interested in buying a scanner interface from these people, I thought it'd be useful to open this thread.

Last 20 I ordered a scanner online from them. Being that I'm really in a hurry, I paid extra for my order to be delivered in 2 days via Fedex.
Today, after receiving NO SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION whatsoever from them, I decided to send them an email, asking about the status of my order. The SECOND I sent the email, I received another email in my inbox. It was from them: a shipping confirmation and tracking number. Looks like they have that issue often enough to set up an automatic response to it.
So I went to Fedex.com, just to find out my order wad been shipped ON THE 22nd!!!
Which means that I paid extra for the fast delivery, only for these people to take 2 days to ship it!

Needless to say, I would NEVER do business with them again.

I respect you as a very knowledgeable individual Inodoro, but I'd say take a couple breaths on this one.

I had a very positive experience when I ordered my scanner from them, and received it promptly (didn't get expedited shipping or anything). They had been recommended to me by several other people on here, who obviously had positive experiences as well.

I have also found their customer support to be very helpful, in regards to asking them questions about firmware upgrades, etc.

I understand your frustration on this one, but maybe try a pleasantly-toned email alluding to the fact that your payment for faster shipping should be refunded, at the least. I have a feeling they'll be more than willing to cooperate, and accommodate you.

I'll try, but it's not about the payment. I have a customer who's been waiting on me for a week now (and meanwhile, renting a vehicle), to fix his car. The guy had sent the car (a 2002 altima) to a "mechanic" who made a mess, and then gave him his car back half done, because "he didn't know how to fix it".
So now, I reassembled whet the other guy didn't finish, but the car has no spark. I have a feeling that he may have switched one or more sensors for bad ones. That's the only reason why I ordered the interface in the first place, and the reason why I paid for the 2 day delivery. I consider it to be highly unprofessional, to take 2 days to ship an item, especially one that has been ordered that way.

Bring Back Capital Punishment I Say. :x
I'd ask for my money back on the expedited shipping. Did you order any additional software?

No, no additional software.
To be honest, the few bucks for the expedite shipping are the least of my concerns.
It's the concept that bothers me. If you pay for expedite shipping, chances are you need it fast...right?

Umcamara: I followed your advise, and sent them a message. I wouldn't call it "pleasantly-toned"... but then again, it's nothing compared to what I'd say to them if we were face to face.

here it is:

"Hello.
On last Monday, September 20, I ordered a Elmscan 5 compact scanner from you online. At the time, I paid extra for the 2 day delivery from Fedex.
On the last 3 days, I haven't had so much as a shipping notification from you. Then, a few hours ago, I decided to shoot you an email, asking for such confirmation and tracking number, only to get INSTANTLY an automatic email with such data.
It's bad enough to see that the issue is so common that you have already set up an automatic response for it, but then, I took my tracking number to Fedex.com, only to find out that you had shipped my item at noon on the 22nd!
If I paid for fast delivery, I'd guess it's easy to see that's because I'm under a time constraint, not because I wanted to give you people more time to ship at your convenience.

Needless to say, I'm very displeased with the quality of your service.

You have a very nice day."

Am I pleasant, or what?

Ok here's what I read; "Hello you stubby pri*ks.
On last Monday, September 20, I ordered one of your good for sh*t nutsack scan 5 compact nutsack scanners from you online. At the time, I paid extra for the 2 day delivery from Fu*kex.
On the last 3 days, I haven't had so much as a shipping notification, k*ss my *ss or nothing from you. Then, a few hours ago, I decided to shoot you,,,, an email, asking for some fu*king confirmation and pecker tracking number, only to get INSTANTLY an automatic d*ck in the face email with such excremental data.
It's bad enough you sacks of pig crap know the issue is so common that you have already set up an automatic d*ck in our *ss response for it, but then, I took my tracking number to Fu*kex.com, only to find out that you had stopped blowing each other long enough to ship my item at noon on the 22nd!
If I paid for fast delivery, if you have even one functional brain cell you'd see that's because I'm under a time constraint, not because I wanted to give you people more time to play hide the salami in each others rectum then ship at your convenience when you decide to visit the aids clinic.
That about cover it?

So, I got a reply today. Here it is:

"Bernardo,

I apologize for any dissatisfaction. Generally it takes 2-3 business days for us to process and ship orders(http://www.scantool.net/shipping/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I'm almost positive that the email you sent was pure coincidence that you got it right after sending an email. I can assure you that we ship out orders as quickly as possible. If there is anything else that I can help you with please feel free to ask.

Kaycie"

So I guess it's MY fault, for not going through the entire site before ordering. I could've gotten it $20 cheaper on Amazon, and I'd probably have it by now. Oh well, live and learn...

Daninski,

I'm using that message you composed for my next ebay feedback when I am dissatisfied. Thanks. ;)

Inodoro,

That sucks, although they did cover their asses with the 2 day thing. It's crappy, but it happens.

Nd4SpdSe,

That's awesome. Gimme.

Yeah, they did, but I'm not dumb enough to fall for that. I come from a place where, when a company talks about customer service, they better mean it!!
Here, on the other hand, not only they have a huge market for whatever they want to sell, but consumers have that "Oh! They screwed me, shame on me!" attitude, so of course they won't give a damn.

So, yeah, they screwed me. And I ended losing a customer because of it. But believe me: if it's up to me, they will lose customers by the dozen.
