So after a few months in an old yamaha fzr 600 with 50 thousand miles, I decided I needed something reliable that I can take long trips in.
This is niot replacing my mx3 and nothing ever will. I still ened my mx3 for winder driving(its heater kicks rear end!) and I still have my eclipse that I rarely drive.
got her for 4500 with taxes fees and all that crud included.

Nice bike. I was tempted to get one but seeing as how many bike crashes we have here I don't want to take risk of being one of the fatalities.

The reason being you hear of fatalities is because there are less bikes than cars on the road. You also always hear about car crashes being deadly. Honestly its the same thing, If you are not a safe driver you are just looking for trouble. I was the same way and was scared when I got my 600. After taking the motorcycle safety course and a few months of everyday driving I felt that I needed something that was newer more reliably and was not going to let me stranded.(woah run on sentence) So I got this.
People are telling me I got ripped off my paying 4500 after tax, but Im happy with it.

90% of time it's not you at fault but other bad drivers who don't pay attention to bikers on the road. It's other bad drivers that scare me. I can't count the times that old grandmas tried to cut me off, made left turn across 2 lanes, etc etc.

agree... had three accidents in the MX3, none of them remotely my fault. one, i was stopped at red light, and the guy in front was poking out in the intersection. even though i was laying on horn, he reversed into me. adios to that bumper. second one, i was getting on a highway ramp, and a guy two lanes to the left of me realized he was missing the entrance ramp and just decided to go for it. that one was a new door and fender. third one was on the highway, in the right lane, about to exit in 1/4 mi. there was a car directly to the left of me in the middle. the van in front of him swung out to the left lane, revealing that the entire middle lane had come to a complete dead stop about 100 ft in front of him. he swung out and clipped me, literally ran me off the road. at 70mph. ruined that bumper too from being too low. tore the bumper mounts out of the fenders.
i don't think i'd have survived the last two if i were on a bike instead. still want one though

Motorcycle riding is all about defense driving like using the rh lane when going through an intersection. Gives you more time to react to a left turning idiot. Every person riding a bike should take a defensive driving course period. Oh and Ya, nice bike.
