Looks like visibility would be pretty tough with that, but heck, what do I know? I look forward to seeing what else you do with the car.

I'd be painting a pic of the rear of the seats on that metal if I were you or at leasty make it look like it's tinted glass. will you be reinforcing that metal with a couple of ribs?

In every place I have ever been In the U.S. the only rule for even Smoked out back window is you have to have both side mirrors. But not to worry It will be reinforced and A back up camara with 4" screen installed. I could not find a single thing making this illigal so....

I can't speak for each city and state, but I do know that in Ohio you can have no visibility out of your back window as long as you have BOTH side mirrors in working order.

With that said, I know of several friends that have completly covered their back windows with decals and stickers whom get pulled over constantly and detained for 15 - 30 minutes while the cops question why, explain the laws, and possably search their car. Granted, the decals and such are usually that of ICP, hatchet men, and misc. other things of the sort. One even had "F*$K Face" across the top in old english.

Reguardless of the 'OK' by the lawbooks 1992mx3, I would expect to be stopped at least once or twice a week until the local PD get to know the car.

I have thought of that, I work with a guy that went to school with 3 of the local officers here and he's asking them tonight how much crap I can expect. In retrospect I have a back up plan to get the lexon hatch which is unsafe compared to this but what can you do. Everything you do to your car to "improve" it can eventualy get you into trouble anyway. I'll let you all know how much actual hell I get when It's on the road in a year or so.

Unsafe compaired to, yea... But all in all, unless you happend to manage to flip and roll in the right combonation, and for long enough for the plastic to break and you to be thrown from your seat, past the front and pass. seat, then over the back seats to be thrown out of the back of the car, I think it will be okay. Not to mention that if you happen to get that much rotation going in all directions to accomplish that, then I think it would be safer to be out of the car anyways... lol

rotflmao, Nice verbal illistration. I did not quite think off it in that way. If anything else I will save this hatch for the shows if I end up on that road.

I seriously considered fiberglassing mine, until I got Lexan. I was going to have a back-up camera, too. I also could find no law against it. I've gotten more ridiculous tickets in my stock MX-3 doing the speed limit than I have in my LOUD one, driving like a maniac. If a cop wants to give you a ticket, you'll get a ticket.
+1 for Godzilla spine!

Zilla spines huh? The way I see's it you have the federal law= obstruction of rear window has no limit as long as you have both side mirrors. State law= only has a section for tint on side and front windows. And then their's local law= that's the one that states in the officers mind = you get a ticket cause I say it's wrong. Just like my license on my Gixxer 1000, the cop said no vertical only horizontal but I can't find anywhere that says it. Oh well don't want to pi$$ off the locals...

Well I just heard from my buddy at work His cop friend said what I said, As long as the side mirrors are in place then it's still legal.

Ah yes it's time for the bike to take leave from me now so i can play with the mx-3. I can't justify keeping it anymore cause it rains too much and with my hip problem it hurts to much to ride. So hopefully soon I'll have lots of parts.
