UK KLZ-Equipe

Hi all, I have owned many MX's in the past and a couple of weeks before christmas I found an original MX-3 Equipe about to be taken for scrap. I bought the whole car as a non runner and have spent many spare hours putting her back on the road and finding out the history of the Equipe as they are regarded as the rarest of all MX-3's. This one is particularly rare as there are less than 10 ever made as its a brochure model for display purpose, these can be identified by the green vinyl design down the sides and all the other equipes were made to order and only featured a small equipe logo under the side repeater lights. Mine was a display model for a large mazda dealer in essex, england.
The differences between a standard MX-3 and the Equipe are...
Black and white leather interior with turquoise stitching based on the mk2 interior
Lights fitted inside the outer door locks that activate when the handle is pulled
Softer American suspension fitted all round (2" higher than European models with softer springs)
Noble Green paint colour
Larger power steering cooler
SE based leather door cards and leather steering wheel + gear selector
Equipe only 5 spoke alloys
plus more that I keep finding by accident or small that I cannot remember
To get the engine running the cambelt and water pump had gone and the starter had seized, replaced those and she fired first time.
I have since getting her running to make it road worthy and legal reconditioned all the brake system and that was it, everything else has been perfect.
current work so far completed to date
New Cambelt
New Waterpump
New Starter motor
New Cold Air Induction Kit
All calipers and discs reconditioned
1k sound system built and hidden within original panels
4" stainless jap style exhaust
Set of Team Dynamic City alloys ( not in pictures yet only arrived this week)
Flyeye tints to all lights
Currently working on...
Body color coded side skirts and front + rear splitters
Front seat being recovered
Stiffer UK standard springs
When I first got her
