small question concerning intake

I'm working on my intake again, and I have a small question - Under the throttle is something that looks like crankcase breather (red arrow on the picture)

Normally it's connected to the air intake - but I've been thinking about installing a small air filter on it - is it a good idea or not really?

That will work fine, it is the breather for the IAC junk. Just dont oil the
filter if you get a small K&N and use a step down hose to move it away
from rubbing the intake.

Thanks for help ;) Now I dunno whether there will be any change in BHP with that line connected to intake or having a small air filter... :] will have to check it on the next dyno day. :D

You will get more BHP from a sticker than modding the IAC intake I bet. :(

agreed, you'd be better off finding an intake with the correct nipples instead of putting a breather on this one. It will cause irratic idle and stumble if not done correctly.

Thanks for help :) So far I managed to get 116bhp out of 107bhp b6bf engine - so I'm looking for every single BHP there is - but I think there's nothing more you can get from intake ;) - next step is 4-2-1 header and then something more untill it produceses 130bhp ;]
