SuperK's Long, Busy Day

SuperK had a long day. He just closed on his first house. Enter into the world of home ownership!

This thread is useless without pics, I know. I'll get them later. Let's look at numbers:

1700 sq ft house, 2 car garage. 4br/2.5br, wood burning fireplace, split level foyer.
Built in '93. Wonderful neighborhood. 1/3 acre lot (not that big)
Sale price: 125,900, Appraised value: 138,900. Closing costs: 3429. 4.75% Fixed Interest Rate.
Monthly payments, including Principle, interest, mortgage and homeowners insurance: $829.

SuperK, so relieved to have the loan and house approved and finally be in possession of the house, decides to take out another stressor. Might as well just get it all done at once so you can relax, right? Well, what was that stressor?

The Girlfriend.

So today, just feeling like this is the day to just drop all those worries and anxiety decides the girlfriend, really doesn't need to be the girlfriend anymore.

So SuperK made her his fiance. Whew, man was I tired of having to hide that damned ring and make up excuses. So SuperK is so tired, but so relaxed, because for just one day, he doesn't have anything else stressing him out.

Just for one day.

Because the next day, and the next week, and the next month and the next year... Welcome to hell. You own a house, gotta move and now it's marriage talk.

Time to have fun in hell. Well, that is, at least, in hell's new two car garage, working on his two hellacious MX-3's!

Wow. Congratulations! When you get married, all of your miscommunications disappear! And when you buy a house, all those little things that went wrong in rentals don't happen enymore! That place sounds nice.

That's so great Kris. I am totally happy for you on both fronts. Being married is absolutely the greatest thing ever. You're goign to be very happy I'm sure.

Just FYI...a 1700sq ft home built in 93' with a 2 car garage on 1/3acre in a nice neighborhood in Edmonton would cost minimum $400k. So enjoy.

EDIT: In case you think I'm exaggerating...click this

I have just three things to say

The engagement ring
The weddinig ring
The suffering.

PS Congrates on the house. Paying rent is a waste of your money

Congrats on the house and the engagement.

Its crazy how cheap houses are in other places, out here you would pay more money for maintenence fees on a condo than you pay for your mortgage. Rent for a basement studio apartment in the ghetto is more money than your mortgage out here. Dammit I need to move away from NYC.

thanks for the warm cuddly feelings guys. I put up some pictures so you guys know what I'm talking about. You're more than welcome to mention my hot fiance and fill my ego up. She's just as tall as me, so when she puts on heels... I become dwarfed. :( little man syndrome.

You are a good looking couple! You look about how you did in my head except a little better(I make up faces for everyone :freak: ).
Man, you scored! If I didn't think you deserve it, I'd be envious.
Your fiance totally reminds me of someone, but I can't place it... someone very pretty.
