1995 Mazda MX-3

Post by NLP303 »

I have a 1995 mx-3 with a 1.6L DOHC engine and my heater is not working. I want to flush the little heater core out but im not sure which hoses connect to it.. I have an idea of which ones they are and i uploaded a picture with the hoses i think go to the heater core.. Im wondering if its safe to use a garden hose to try and wash it out.. need your help!! plz and thank you...

Check your thermostat before you do anything to the heater.

Warm the car up and compare the upper rad hose to the lower.
They should both be warm, if not your thermostat just needs
replacing - 5 dollar part.

listen to ^ guy.

But you're right, those are the correct hoses, and you can use a garden hose. Take off the rubber part, don't try and take apart the plastic fittings.
