Take 2

Hey All,
I am a paramedic from Daytona Beach, FL area. Ive been looking for another little hobby aside from my Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai so I recently purchased my $400.00 93 MX-3 (dubbed the 'Ricer'). Came completely stock with 1.6L SOHC and 5 speed MTX. Stock white faded paint chipping and peeling in some areas others only losing the clear coat. Significant oil leak that coats the (R) control arms and everything towards the back of the car getting coated in oil from it being slung by the Alt. belts and such. So I am slowly but surely making this car into a decent little play toy compliments of this amazing forum :D . I will keep the updates coming. Pics soon to follow :D
  • EXTERIOR
  • Degreased and pressure washed
  • Tail lights and Corner Lights Blacked out with commercial blackout spray
  • Currently in the process of Dismantaling the front fenders, hood and Bumpers
~To be painted color undetermined with racing stripes maybe a single stripe. :?: Any suggestions :?: ..??
~Just saw Mazda Miata MX-5 Blue.. Looks nice. Single racing stripe down the drived side top....
  • Sumitomo HTR A/S P01 195/60/14 H rated Directionals
    ~ 65k Mile warranty :D
  • INTERIOR
  • Interior has been painted from old nasty Mazda Brown to Gloss and Flat black
  • Driver side seat cover and floor mats.
  • Reverse Glow Gauges
~ Need to replace the broken needles :welder: lol broke them in the process of replacing the gauges
  • ENGINE COMPARTMENT
  • BP05 1.8L DOHC Junk Yard Motor from a '91 Mercury Tracer
109k on the speeedo. Tore it apart to get it degreased and rebuilt. Looks like someone ran it for a while with a bad valve cover gasket... It turns over :D.. getting new head gasket, rings just in case.., and replacing all the gaskets before I put it in.. :D Will be using Typhoonk's write up.. :D
~ :?: Any suggestions on a turbo.. ?? I can do a search just looking for a personal preff that may stand out. :?:
  • New Rings, Bearrings, seals, Gaskets, Valve guide Seals.
  • All clearances at Stock numbers.
  • 05/16/2011 Finally started up and running smooth.
  • 05/24/11 Wheel bearings, Passenger side hub, Tie rod ends replaced.
    (now for the ball joints)

I'm not good with computers, and am on 56K  I use Photobucket.
I'm glad you're fixing it up, and want to see pics, too!
I used to practice Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jutsu, with some others. I still do my gym "fighting" workout, but don't frize fight anymore.

 It's funny to look at that now. With all the mods I've done, I haven't changed that. They help your car's response by helping the signals from the sensors "move" faster, and be stronger.
I'm sure it helps other stuff that I don't understand.
