I work at a speed shop. Usually we sell parts to make cars go faster or look better. These are two examples of unusual customer cars. The first is a VW beetle that has been designed too compete in a fuel consumption trials. In the competition the vehicle is loaded with cargo and driven over a certain distance. The vehicle that uses the least amount of fuel wins. Enter the VW Beetle Cube Van!
The next vehicle has a 330HP 350C.I.D GM crate engine, MSD soft touch rev limiter ect. It is less about quarter mile and more about lifting though.
Very interesting! I love unusual builds. How much torque does the Mouse engine put out?
That reminds me of a VW competition from before the new beetles came out... Slow drags. A person would build their car to be the slowest! For the 1/4 mile, people would build their Bugs to idle in first gear, chugging down the track, and would usually walk circles around them, walk over them, etc... for showmanship. They would go so slow, that with every RPM (usually around 60ish), you would think it would die. Of course, whomever finished last won.
