Does an Oil Catch tank Make a Big Difference to Performance

This spring I want to tidy up the V6 engine bay, its not bad as it is but I want it to look better. One idea I have is to install an Oil Catch Tank, apart from capturing those oily mists and preventing it from being burnt in the chamber etc, does it have an appreciable effect on the efficiency or performance of the engine. :?:

I have a greddy one, you can see it in my worklog. It doesn't help performance at all, it just catches vapors and looks cool. That is all.

they don't really add anything to performance. They are great for boosted cars where blow-by is an issue. As I see it, if you have EGR, it's worse than any minute traces of oil in your pvc system.

if nothing else it keeps oil from clogging up your intake... I was amazed to see how much actually gets caught!

Thanks for the input, I didn't think it would make a huge difference to performance. One of my unwritten rules is that if it doesn't contribute in anyway at all to the performance, handling or just the good look of my already great car, then I don't do it. Cheers guy's. :)

PS. Based on my criteria above I will fit one as part of my engine bay tidy.

When I rebuilt my engine, I took the IM into be cleaned in their parts wash tank @ the machine shop. the PCV nipple on the IM was completely plugged with oily gunk.

thats what made me get a catch can. its about 200mL and I have emptied it once a year after I bring my car out of storage. Its usually about half full. Ive pulled the hose off my IM and its clean. for me it makes a huge difference

Yeah, I have a bunch of Martini shakers, and stuff to make them. I just got busy doing other stuff. I want to make a bunch of them first, and then sell them off.

Only if it comes with a sticker that people can see.

The HP is instantly doubled if the sticker says NOS.
