mx6 question

Ok obviously this is an mx3 forum (i have an mx3 as well which is why i go on this forum) and i am too lazy to make an account on a mx6 forum so if anyone happens to know a bit about mx6s than maybe you can help answer my question.
My mx6 oil light flickers and fades when the car is at 1000 rpms or lower. The light doesnt stay lit, it just flickers and fades like it cant make up its mind. Thats the only time the light will do that.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem.

Ps it only started doing this right after i got an oil change.

Thank you.

Have you thought of checking the oil level yet or no?

That would be the obvious thing.

But granted, its not always so simple. "Check engine" doesn't mean you should go peer into the engine bay.

But an oil pressure light... I suppose one might think to check the oil pressure, not the oil level.

I am a little confused.

Well consequently, very little/no oil = low oil pressure.

Yeah, I'd make sure first that oil levels are good, then check oil pressure, make sure theres no leaks or anything unwanted like that

mine just started leaking, i mean dumping oil one day. I changed. 2nd one would flicker after I had it on the car for a year or so. I've replaced it and torqued it to spec and put teflon tape on threads, it's working so far

yes i would check my oil level everyday to see if i was leaking any and i am not at all. I just think its wierd that it was fine right before i did the oil change and now it will flicker after the oil change.
this might be a really dumb question but would it possibly make the light flicker on and off if there is too much oil?

No, but it will ruin your motor eventually....

why don't you just go outside right now and check the dipstick?

I threw a new oil pressure sensor/switch in it and seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks for the help :]
