Considering a BP swap in my 95 mx-3

Hey guys,

My car has been having a problems lately and at the very least I think it needs a new head gasket and valve cover gasket. Considering I could pick up a bp with half the amount of miles as my current engine for less then $200 more then a new head gasket, I thought I might as well put a better engine in there.

I just read through the BP swap guide but it doesn't completely discuss a swap into a 95. From what I could gather, the wiring will be kind of difficult. Is there more information somewhere about a 95 swap specifically? I want to make sure I am fully prepared for when I decide to do the swap.

::EDIT:: For the record, I have a manual transmission and it is OBDI

The search on this site has a learning curve, but there's more out there.

Here's some info about swapping into a later model...

Anyway, most of the issues you have will be with the wiring. The pinout may be different where the front harness plugs into the engine harness. You may have to swap a couple of pins on one of the plugs. There's probably a pinout in the manual. Just look it up and compare.

Take a look at page 7 of the "real bp swap guide" sticky...

Is the 95 not the same as the 94? I thought 92-93 were the same, 94-95 and then 96 is OBDII.

If I'm right or wrong, read ALL of the information found here:

I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure enough to post it.

Anyway, someone reposted the diagram I directed you to. So here's a link, if you didn't get it the first time...
