After buying a pair of them off of ebay... I was thinking... "Hey! These would look pretty good on the car. I'll actually cut into my fender and install them"
End result: Looks like poo... inserts are rather pointless, more cosmetic appeal at best. You'll go through about 6 dremel cutting discs, a couple of bandages, and ultimately a new set of fenders.
Learn from my experience and don't install these... you'll hate them and I promise! Pictures are available upon request.

Re: Z3 Fender Inserts...
Thanks for posting this. These kinds of posts are as useful as "It turned out great!" posts, but few would have the gumption to show that they made a mistake.. I know I wouldn't have thought to post something like this.
Long ago, when new MX-3s still roamed the earth, some guys on here put those in, and you could get fiberglass fenders with them molded in, and I thought they looked okay (not for me).
I thought about molding them into my hood, when I make one out of fiberglass, but it looks like they're too small.

Re: Z3 Fender Inserts...
ouch.
You can always put the FG Z3 MX fenders on instead... some body mods really are not worth it

Re: Z3 Fender Inserts...
I was thinking about using them as hood inserts instead because they are actually a decent size. Well... the fenders were already damaged for they have dents in the corner where it rounds into the bumper so I guess I now have a reason to get some newish ones.
