i have a 2 inch stainless exaust from the downpipe back with a magnaflow cat and magnaflow muffler... but my car doesnt sound the way i want... if i had a resonator installed in between the cat and the muffler would it make it sound better? like my exaust is loud right now.. and i do like it being loud... but its not the right kind of loud, i donno its hard to explain.. any input would be great... thanks!

Adding a resonator will change the exhaust note, but whether it will make it better or not is difficult to know. Magnaflow stuff is good quality but it is not quiet in my experience.

resonator will disrupt the sound like you want it to
good luck finding one though

wont be able to find a decent resonator for cheap that wont require you to chop up your exhaust >_<
you could get a factory one but its obviously too small
SOME aftermarket shops carry them but their too expensive :/
i just installed a glass pack on mine ^_^

i notice you have a 1.6 dohc like i do
all i have is straight pipe with the glass pack and i get compliments on the sound of the exhaust all the time
does your magnaflow have one of those fart canister resonator tips on it?

it works almost the same but im not sure how it would sound with your magnaflow muffler
wont hurt to try it but be prepared to do some chopping

if its a dual tip it may not but having the resonator in the muffler will give it that raspy bumble bee sound
i would try the glass pack and then if you dont like the sound then just keep the old pipe and put on something with a deeper sound like a dynomax or flowmaster
the b6 dohc with straight pipe sounds about like a 3.0 v6 for some reason, just to give you an idea of what your shooting for
