Exhaust Manifolds (interchange?)

ok, so where i live my car only has to pass a safety inspection, witch means that i don't need the warm up
cat. i will have a catalyst i just want a regular manifold.
the manifold that i have now the warm up cat has been punched so my back pressure is not right.
so here is my question:

this is from a escort gt.

the bolt pattern looks identical, the only problem i can possibly see with this swap would be that it points toward
the tranny.
i cannot afford headers and everyone here wants a crazy amount for the stock manifold.

so, has any one done this? is it possible?

i have a b6-de. and here is a picture of the exhaust manifold gasket for my engine:

it looks identical, i just want to know if it has been verified before i waste my $ and Time.

I don't think exhaust manifolds interchange.

A kia sephia 95 1.6l has the same engine/manifold. You'd be able to use that.

Don't argue with me, whoever you are that wants to say , "No it doesn't"

because it does, mmk? You see me? I'm SuperHostileK, don't mess with me!

the bp is physically 22 mm longer, so the gaskets look very very close but the spacing will be off.

ok, well that is disappointing. i thought the extra .2 displacement was from a longer stroke.
arg, so there is not a 1.6 dohc manifold or something that will bolt up (with some modification im sure)
that does not have a warm up cat incorporated?

your best bet would be to look into an older sohc manifold and redrilling the holes.
Im pretty sure the sohc didnt have a cat in the manifold. :welder:
