I own a 93' MX-3 that is in need of a new transmission and I was wandering if it would be smart or even possible to put a 6 speed manual transmission into it? if so what other factors would come into play?

thats a terrible idea. Bell housings are different, axles are different, speedometer is different,
Wait. 6 speed? where would you get that? how would you geet it to fit? Its not like they make universal units. Ha, I was giving you the benefit of assuming you had meant 6 cyl transmission.
No, doens't work, if it did, we would have done it long ago.

Why would you want to shift so many times. We burn through the gears now as it is.

The 4 cyl is more torque/hp peaky, more gears would let you stay in that RPM range longer.

Only B motor series proteges (look like 323)
And the GT (BP)s come with G transmissions, which work, but require new stuff like axles and I believe spindles...
