leaking wheel

So I have this leaking wheel on mom's car. It has chrome coating and supposedly it's coming off thus not making seal. I've talked to les schwab (local tire dealer) and they said I need new wheel. I've asked them if they can put tube in it they said they can't. I don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars on new rims. Besides this is factory wheel so I'd like to keep it that way. If I had tire changed I would've attempted to sand it and seal it myself but knowing these guys they just want to make a sale. What would you guys recommend? A couple of tubes of a fix-a-flat lol?

Take it to any place that deals excessively with cars. A dealership will have the equiptment to take rubber off. Ask them to take the rubber off, grind down the rim, clean off the rubber and put it back on. Shouldn't take a competent person more than 10 minutes.

Every time you remove rubber, some of it stays behind and you SHOULD grind down the rim every time.

Maybe talk to the boss, offer $20. Should do.
