Unknown problem (92 Mx-3) random no start

Well my 92 1.6L been having some problems lately of sometimes it takes a few tries to start up. than randomly when driving it act's like it may be loosing spark / choking random rpm's random load's. It will act like that for giver or take 5 seconds than get back to normal... when it does it check engine light flashes but immediately goes off. So far ive changed plugs/wire's and i put a new fuel filter in because when it acts up like this i smelled alot of gas. makes me believe im loosing spark..... Any ideas?

Ok today i went to check the codes on it. Came up with #9, #15, #17 Any help on what these are, and if they contribute to my problem

i would check fuel pressure at the fuel rail

sorry for late update but it actually turned out to be the bad water thermosensor i changed out
