OK at first it was random misfiring, but it cleareard up and wasnt to noticeable, now when i go down the road the rpms completey drop to 0 and then go back to where they were.
Kinda like poping a clutch, it just starts back,,,but its not off longer than a second.
Ok yesterday i ws at a stop light , it stalled and it wouldnt crank back up, waited like 10 minutes and then it did,
drove fine the rest of the day, Then this morning i was driving to work on my motor build at my friends shop an it stalled completely, i was doing 60 mph and let it coast to a parking lot real close.
pulled in come to a complete stop and if fired right up. drove the rest the way very cautiously.
When i got to the shop i worked on my other car and then i decided to check my cel on the mx3.
I go a cpl codes for egr due to a ze swap, vris code cause i have one removed.
And then A code 2 i drove the car home. on here it says thats the crank pos sensor is that all it could be?

if its your crank position sensor its easy to change. I just did mine a few months ago. let me know if you need help but you can look it up in online shop manual, just one bolt.

might as well change your belts while you're at it cause you will have to pull them off to get to it.

Nope, unneccessary. I just loosened the pulley till there was enough room to squeeze it through. Didn't even have to take out the dipstick.

ok the wires snapped off the connector,, thats what caused the code 2 cel.
All my belts are new, i installed them like 4 monthas ago when i installed the jdm motor.
I was familair with putting this in but i just didnt know if this would be the main cause of my problems.2 yr warrentied part from autozone for 49 $

ok its been around a month now, the cps is god and new, well today and yesterday i drove the car 4 miles within that time period the car shut off 4-6 times.
as long as im in gear and it turns off i keep pushing the throttle the car seems to crank. not always imediatly but i have been stuck in the road 2 times, what else cld be the issue?
i also still have cel 2 on, should i have reset something to remove it or would simply replacing the sensor remove it?

did you replace sensor or not? Your best bet is to check it with voltmeter

I'd check sensor with multimeter and see if it's within the spec. You didn't splice wires back together, you got brand new sensor right?

Those describe the exact symptoms i've been having with my 93 GS. I have codes 2,3,4 going off (crank, cam, and another cam). Take a look at the HEI mod writeup
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/633391/8 for the distributor in these forums, it seems like what we have might be a bad ignition module. I'm goin to try to replace mine tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes

Guys.... CEL #2 is prelude to disty failure. Why did no one mention this yet? All his symptoms point glaringly at it, too.
Also, check your battery terminals.
