well my baby got hit tonight. a lady blew threw two stop signs and hit me doing about 55km. i was pulling off the highway onto the side road where i live and she was just leaving the casino hitting me right in the driver side front tire. her little toyota pushed me sideways a couple of feet. pushed the top of the tire in about four inches, caved in the fender, bent my mazda speed adjustable strut in, steering rack is out, something wrong with the steering column, spring looks tweeked, think i pushed the steering wheel in due to the fact that the blinker comes on when i turn the wheel, rim is pretty scraped up. no one is hurt bad, my neice banged of the window and her friend in the back got bounced around, im ok...knee is sore and a headache but thats probably from not going apesh.. on her. for sure does not want to drive straight now. its dark out so i have to wait until the morning to check the rest of the car out. probably did damage to the race axle, steering arm, wheel bearing, ball joint, subframe, think the actual frame got a little bent in. the front of her car is scraped up, broke a hole in the bumper cover, headlight is off with scrathes all over, nothing else that i could see, nothing looked pushed in. now i get the joys of dealing with our great icbc auto insurance, she should be 100% at fault but you never know.

sounds like you've totalled it. Sorry to hear another mx-3 is out of commission. I kinda doubt insurance co will want to pay for your aftermarket parts.

With ICBC if you provide receipts with the car they will give you some extra cash for what you put in.

its not bad bad but i think its enough for them to write it off. if they do and i cant get it back i can swap stock parts back into in within the day, klze, tranny with lsd, stage 3 axles, markers, projectors, factory sides, rear mud guards, stereo, alarm, gauges, rims/rubber, remaining mazdaspeed struts, h&r springs etc. im not near as pissed as i thought i would be, even kept my cool when talking to her, i know its a car but its my baby. i do have another white one i was going to repaint over the winter and transfer parts over so i might drive it around but that will not be until tuesday now.

Pretty sure they will write it off, but if they give you a quote for how much they are gonna give you tell them its worth more, go online and print off the most expensive mx3's you can find in canadatrader, buysell, CL and give them the sheet. I got a extra 1K outa the deal when I did that with my first MX.

You know what that means...everyone should start posting their MX-3s for $10K online :P

sorry to hear it's gone. Yea keep in mind you can always fight to get the highest price there is!! Then again if you mentioned all those aftermarket parts in Ontario to ure insurance company they would void you right away being a modified car! Unless you have specialty insurance with an apraisal like I had to get for mine.

well i talked to the insurance company yesterday after i got back from working out of town. what a joke, 2 weeks to have then tow my car after two adjusters came to my house to check it over, one wanted to fix it the other wanted to write it off. the first guy figured 200.00 damage. looks like about 2500.00 so they wrote it off. sounds like i get to buy it back for about 200.00 and get 2000.00 for the car, but i have to replace a 350.00 rim, can't even find another mazdaspeed adjustable strut so i have to replace the front two struts. so this is going to leave me nothing to buy another car. to top it off i need a car right now so i can fix mine in about a day but after spending the money on the parts i need and inspection/reregistering the car im probably going to be in the hole. looking at the car it looks like i have a softball size dent on the driver fender and my tire is a little bent in. wish that was all. so this week on top of working 50 hours, i have to replace a ctuch on a friends mx3, motor swap a 97 civic si, paint my 323, fix my mx3 and go on a trip to pick stuff up which will be two days......

well i hate ford mechanics. they are the only ones able to do a structural frame test here in town. there was no damage from this accident which was good but he failed it from the accident before i bought it five years ago, which passed the inspection back then. the driver side front frame from the firewall foward is bent in a quarter inch and the rad support was bent but straightened so he failed it for that. the bend is just infront of the subframe and really doesnt matter but the old man said the car is way too unsafe to be on the street, so for the last five years im lucky to be alive i guess. thing is it has never driven this good since i replaced the sub frame last week. also for some reason i needed a wheel alignment to even have them do a fram test to pass or fail the car......what does this have to do with the structural integrity of the car? closest place to have a retest is almost a 2 hour drive away, so its another 80.00 to have the structural test redone, then another safety inspection for 80.00, wheel alignment for 85.00, and a new window due to a couple of small cracks for 380.00. or buy another mx3 for a couple hundred bucks. picked up a black v6 for 450.00 and a red v6 for 150.00 but neither are in good enough shape for a rebuild.
