differences

hey yall... as i've said before, i'm new here... so my question,
what are the differences between the GS and RS springs? both '92s.
here's why i ask.
i just bought a '92 RS, and the PO had beatten the suspension to the ground. literally. the shock rod was completelly loose and just... sitting there. the perches, the rubber on the upper spring mounts rather, was gone. all i had was a hole. the car was just riding on the springs.
so, i went to the local JY and got me a set of GS springs/shocks.
now my car has almost 2" of space between the tires (185-65-14) and the fender. this is WAY too high for me, even for a stock car.
Are the springs on the GS meant to make the car higher? Are they softer? (my car has more body roll than an SUV) and take-off is... horrible at best. really bad sqatting and nose dive on braking.
Should i get the ZX2 upgrade yall keep posting about? or just invest on Eigbac springs?
This is NOT a race car, nor will it see any track time. however, i like to take turns a litle fast (i do autocross my miata) so this much body roll bothers me.
i already have GR-2s on the car. helped a litle, but not enough.
and i already read about the bushings, which i will upgrade when i do the springs.
Thanks for the info.
And sorry for the long post, i figure the more info i give, the more educated a response i will get.
PS: i'm not new to cars, so please don't down talk to me. not being an A$$, i just had bad experiences from e-thugs. lol.
thanks again.

The GS front springs would for sure be stiffer, since the GS engine bay is heavier than the RS; therefore the front will sit high if used on an RS. I (along with many others) would recommend the ZX-2 Tokico Struts (direct swap, read the FAQ when you have a chance), and Eibach Pro springs.

This combo will bring your car to a perfect ride height, with minimal wheel well gap.

would i be able to use the regular RS springs with the ZX-2 combo? i've read the FAQ but everyone orders the lowering springs. can i still use the original springs? or should i pull the whole assembly off a junkyard like i did with the GS?

You already have a nice shock. If you got all the perches and mounts and everything from your junkyard run, just replace the springs with the Eibachs and you're laughing. You will still find the stock RS springs too soft if you're into performance driving. The Eibach sprinigs are a mild upgrade and MX-3 or the ZX2 springs are both available. I have the ZX2s because the MX-3s were not available at the time. I'm not sure what the difference is in the spring rates.

The struts are the same, i tried both.. the abs ones are a rip off.. its just a bracket to hold the abs wire..

I have been itching to try those escort shocks tho.
