A LITTLE HELP

Hey guys, I am overwhelmed by the massive forum here and was wondering if anyone can help cut my search short. I got a 92 mx3 with the sohc motor. I read is easier to do a BPT swap in this car then the badass KLZE. I really want a quick winter beater and could find klze like nothing from all the souped up ford probes. Yet I heard it was very hard and that's all. No reason why and that's what I want to know. BTW the BPT is costy way too much for my car and my demand for it. Beside a dd is better off NA then FORCE INDUCTION right :D

lol you're so gonna get flamed. haha.
is the stock engine the 1.6 4cyl or the 1.8 v6? so Rs or Gs?
if its the 1.6 the bpt is basically a drop in. you CAN put a klze in there but its highly advised you dont and it'd be easier to find a gs and put the klze in there.

flamed? sorry new to these forums. Yea is the 1.6 4 cyl and i believe thats the rs. so why shouldn't i drop the klze? i know they fit in a gs better but why not a rs? to my understanding is just the mounts right?

To start, subframe and mounts, harness, ecu, rad, etc. This is a winter beater/daily driver right? Go to a wrecker, get a bp from an escort, search this site for a proper airflow sensor/ecu combo, and you're done for under 500 bux. You'll be spending upwards of 1500 for a ZE and all the gs parts to swap to your car. Not to mention it is soooo much work!!!!!!!!! Listen to us dude, we know what's worthwhile and what isn't. Not tryin to pounce, but trust us.

Hey. I cansay im still kinda new to the MX3 world. But dang i love these cars. To us here they are no beaters. If you stick around on this site you will be building it up before you know it. But when these guys say something you should do. Id do it. They know alot about these and have done about everything possible to them.

i went the other way around went from v6 to bpt and yes the swap is a pain just because of sourcing parts. Id go bp and turbo that cheapest route. a bpt stock has nearly the klze horsepower and im getting 27city 33hwy mpg so it has that advantage

If it's not a Mazda K-series or B-series, it won't be a bolt in. If you want a Duratec 23, 30, 35, 37. A 350, 427, a rotary, a hemi; you can make them all fit, but it all will require custom work and it's uncharted territory, you'll be on your own.

See I've been doing alot of research lately but can not find my answer. As a DD I surely can not relie on boosted engines, that is why I choose the klze but did some research to find out that the duratec is "supposly" the same motor just lable ford. I know Ford and their line up and mazda line up with K, and B series motor will swap in. What I was looking for was a answer to my question if this is the same series motors you find in the svt or not. DURATEC 25 :D

As earlier stated, the duratecs will not bolt in, I wish you luck if you decide to go that route.

A Duratec 25 is NOT a KL, it's a 60* v6 that's of a similar layout, but it's not from the same family. You can research all you want, but you can't find information on something that's never been done. The only one that's shared with it is the H-series from Suzuki (used in the Vitara) since it was co-developped with Mazda.
