i just bought a mx3 with a klze.its running kinda strange.it has a mx3 v6(k8)VAF with a KL31 ecu.will it run better and with more whp with a k8 VAF with k8 ECU?

no, the kl31/36 ecus are the correct ecu for the klze (actually that's not a 100% true statement but for this topic it is)
the kl31/36 uses the same Vaf as the k8 Je50. So your using the right combination of parts. You can use a k8 ecu but your going to burn more fuel and not have as much power.
What is the actual problem? Define Strange.

So the best way to go is with the kl31 ecu with k8 flowmeter?to gain more whp

You want the most power, get Megasquirt.
The stock Mx-3 JE50 VAF is the perfect match to the KL31/KL36 ECU', however it's VRIS points are off if you're using the curved-neck intake manifold.
The Probinator chip will not gain you any more power, but the corrected VRIS will give you a broader powerband, so essentially more usable power.

I have the straight neck one.I eliminated the butterflys from the intake manifold.
I had the same setup when I had my 94 323 klze hatch.179whp.
13.0 @ 101mph 1/4 time.
But on the hatch I had the mx6 ecu with mx6 flowmeter.

The mx6 ecu(kl01 or kl07) will not work with the JE50.
as for what nd4spdse said the probinator makes more power than the kl31/36 Not only are the vris point correct but Ryan also changed a few things on a dyno when he made the chip.
Some people claim that the K8 ecu with the kl02 will make more power. the k8 ecu and JE50 runs rich because of the smaller independance injectors the k8 has. but pair that up with the kl02 vaf from a mx6 or probe and it leans out the a/f's a bit and is supposed to make decent power. I wouldn't mind trying this out myself.

well im gonna get a mx6 flowmeter and ecu for this setup

From my experience, je50 vaf and ecu for 1.8 k8 engine not mach
mixture is too much rich end absolutely no power get out
anyway i've dubt for vaf efficency but kl31/kl36 ecu with same je50 vaf
is quite better that previous configuration
now mixture is a bit rich in low and med range but 10.8 at high rev
in any case 181 hp now
my goal is check map now and exhaust sensor to exclude vaf failure

Exactly. The problem is that the computer doesn't know it's now running a 2.5L motor with 220cc injectors, it still thinks it's the K8 and adjust according to that.
If you're running a 2.5L motor, use the apropriate ECU a VAF for it to run right...that's it that's all.

just bought a kl07 ecu with a kl02 VAF
i tried the kl31 ecu with k8 vaf but chek engine light does not turn on.why?

They do not have Cel on those ecu... You can still pull codes though...

ok so with wich setup will il have more whp :
KL31 ECU - JE50 VAF or KL07 ECU - KL02 VAF?

i'm going to go with the kl31/36 setup with the je50 vaf
but ultimately megasquirt will yield you the most being 190whp or more

why wont the kl07 ecu display a check engine light?
