biggest tire for a 17 inch rim?

I basically want the biggest tire I can get for a 17 inch tire and that wont rub om the struts.
Anyone?
why would I want this? Im boosted, and want longer wheel ratio as ive seen it do wonders on my friends turbo mx3.
I havent talked to him in a while and i forgot what size he is running.

well i am running 215/45/17's i bet you could go up to a max of 235/45/17's but that could get really close to the strut

stereoking15 had a set of 235/45/17 and they DID NOT fit... he swapped them out for some 225/45/17 and they DID fit but that was after alot of grinding on the front strut perches + 5mm spacers. I believe the rears went on fine (no grinding) with just 5mm spacers.

lol...im running 205/35/17 on stock suspension
